Reading through Wendy Vaz‘s blog post on “Business Ethics: Is Lying In Commercial Even Ethical“, I stronly agree with what she has said on Nokia’s commercial video on The Verge.
Business ethics is needed in conveying the message of a product. I believe it is wrong and they should be sued in court to show the false information to the customers. It is basically a lie to customers and as a multinational company, it looks ugly for them to do that. By deceiving the truth of their product and making the consumers to purchase The Verge is also a bad idea in terms of strategy. By losing the trust of the company, it is only the matter of time when the customer’s loyalty towards the brand diluted and worn out as they get disappointed with the expectation. Is it worth it to make a good sales just for a short term of period but losing the trust of customers and making lots of bad sales in the future?
