Teaching Philosophy

My main goal in the classroom is to foster intrinsic motivation in my students.

Why intrinsic motivation?

Intrinsic motivation drives creativity, decision-making, leadership, and ownership. These are only some of the characteristics of learners and people creating change in the future. I want my students to care about the learning process and take responsibility of it. As they slowly become self-driven learners, they will be able to take ownership of their learning by making decisions on how they should learn. Sometimes, they’ll want to experiment with their learning by trying creative ways to organize and demonstrate what they learn. As their teacher, I hope to create these safe outlets where students can be themselves in the classroom and develop their love of learning.

Learning should be part of anyone’s lifestyle.
