GRADUATING PROJECT DOCUMENTS FOR FACULTY SUPERVISORS

MFRE Cohort Information:
- MFRE Students – Bio’s
- MFRE Student Portal (pw: MFRE2024) – Includes all required actions, instructions, templates, deadlines and details regarding the Graduating Project.
- MFRE Weekly Schedule – A calendar view of all Graduating Project activities, which also includes professional development workshops.
Project Plan Templates:
- Project Plan Template
- Includes Objectives, Context, Deliverables, Data, Project Approach, Risks, Professional Development sections.
- Please work with the student and provide feedback so they can write a detailed, robust and realistic project plan. Project Plan is due May 21, 2024.
- After you approve the Project Plan, students can send it to the Site Supervisor.
- Gantt Chart Template.xls
- We ask students to develop their Gantt Chart just before the mid-stream assessment. They will submit this to the MFRE Program by June 6.
- The Gantt Chart is not part of the initial Project Plan because historically, we’ve found that students find it hard to identify their tasks and estimate the work when the project just started.
- To minimize your workload, you do not need to review their Gantt Chart. However, if you’d like to work with them on this, please feel free to connect with the student.
Communicating with Students:
- Please communicate with Students, Site Supervisors and MFRE Program via email this summer (including document sharing).
- Faculty Supervisors will not have access to Canvas because it’s not required.
You’re Invited – Mid-Stream Assessments (June 10 and 11, 2024):
- Faculty Supervisors are invited to attend their Student’s mid-stream assessments on Zoom (10-15 mins per student). The MFRE Program will be asking each Student questions to gauge progress.

You’re Invited – Final Graduating Project Showcase (August 22, 2024):
- In UBC-V Campus, 9am to 5pm (schedule will be developed in early August)
- The event will include current MFRE students, Faculty Supervisors, Site Supervisors, MFRE Team, and UBC / LFS Community members. We hope you can make it!!
Grading Rubric and Final Grades:
- Final Deliverables and Project Process Grading Rubric TBD – deadline August 28, 2024.
- Use this for assigning the grade for the Student’s end-of-term Deliverables and Project Process.
- The MFRE Program will email you in late August to provide the final grade.
