B.C. AND FIRST NATIONS SIGN EDUCATION AGREEMENT

VANCOUVER – Premier Gordon Campbell and Chief Negotiator Nathan Matthew and President Deborah Jeffrey of the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) signed a historic agreement today to enhance First Nations education in British Columbia.

BC Teachers Make Deal With Government

The B.C. Teacher’s Federation (BCTF) has agreed to a tentative collective agreement. With only hours left before a signing bonus deadline ran out, an agreement was reached at 9:45 p.m. last night. The five-year contract gives teachers a total compensation package of 16% and a signing bonus of $4000.
