I don’t think I can even hold a Rubik’s Cube in one hand.

So I have no idea how Sittinon Sukhaya, one of my favourite contestants at last night UBC’s Got Talent managed to solve Rubik’s cube in approxmiately 20 seconds, one handed WHILE EATING A BANANA in the other. Blew the audience away.

Here’s his audition tape:

Whoa. There was some other amazing performances of the night. Talented beat boxers Rob and Matt. Matt actually lives in my house, met him later in Magda’s. Gotta love late night food runs.

There was some great performances. I was in awe by the violinist and piano duet, Kaine Newton, who just mesmerized the audience with their nimble fingers. As well, Unlimited Dance Crew rocked the stage and made me want to again take up breakdancing. B-girl Nicky. Waddap!

The show ended with Razzmatap, a tap dancing troupe full of UBC Alumni. It was great seeing so much alumni come out to the event, as a student living on campus sometimes I forget that once you graduate you don’t just stop being part of the UBC community. I enjoyed the ending tap performance and thought of my Mom who is taking up tap dancing (inspired by her daughter-yours truly) and am definitely sending her a video for a little inspiration.

Part of me thinks that the emcee stole the show, providing very very humourous commentary to the evening.

Overall, it was awesome and I can’t wait ’til next year’s. Until then, keep practicing and we’ll see you on the Chan Stage.
