Neon is in. Green is too.

Put the two together and you have the ultimate synergized combination of three things that are consuming my days.

1) Mat Kearney’s new album “Young Love”. Just an amazing album that features some very vibrant neon green cover art. Plus, Mat Kearney is pretty easy on the eyes. This also makes me wonder if he’s considered hipster. But let’s not start a what is hipster debate.

2) The incoming exhibit at the Richmond Museum, where I am currently doing a UBC Arts Internship. Titled “sustainABILITY?” everything I’ve been doing centres around being green. Opening reception is at 7:00 p.m. at the Richmond Cultural Centre on August 23rd if anyone is interested in joining me. I definitely know more about Richmond, possibly than my own hometown after this summer.

3) Prepping to be an RA in Salish House at Totem Park! Our House colour is green and I’ve clearly adopted that, adding my own Ned-twist flavour to it, interpreting “green” to be (you’ve guessed it) neon green.

So all in all, I’ve recently decided slash come to the conclusion that fuchsia and lime are my two favourite colours. They’re fun, zesty and energetic – three adjectives I hope to embody. Once I came to this revelation my friends teased me saying “Congratulations, you’re now prepared for adulthood”. Am I fifteen years late coming up with an answer to the one question that starts all pre-school friendships? What is your favourite colour? Really, even if I did know that these two amazing colours would become my favourite in the entire RBG colour model, I’m positive I would’ve been shunned because it still didn’t fit in the Crayola 8-Pack of crayons.

I guess I can add this onto my list of “facts” about Ned. It’s probably a good idea to have some go-to random trivia about yourself now that orientation is just around the corner. Two truths and a lie is such a popular game and they really never give you enough time.
