Where is Taiji, Japan?

Taiji is a small town located in Higashamuro District, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. The town has an estimated population of 3500 people. Taiji faces the pacific ocean and is well known as the ‘whaling town.’ Japanese traditional whaling methods have been developed here as far back as the 17th century.
