Summary: The length of the simple pendulum is important in calculating the period. We should notice that the length of the motion may be not equal to the string’s length in some situation. We should pay attention and find the equivalent pendulum length in different situation. In my learning object, I consider the way to find the equivalent length in the situations when the string length is changing and when the pendulum shape is different from the common type.
