I had a touch-base meeting with the UBC practicum partners to align on the project direction and receive clarification on the support available.
- Focusing on “How”: It is good to address “what to include” in the syllabus based on the UDL framework. However, it may be more important and practical to address “how to include” it, using case-by-case examples and scenarios.
- Project as an Open-Ended Experiment: We reached a consensus that every endeavor in this fast-evolving EdTech environment is an open-ended experiment, which means being open to questions, curiosity, and trial and error, rather than requiring immediate correct answers.
- AI Tools Behind the Paywall: It may be possible to get access to AI tools behind a paywall based on project needs. However, it is recommended to first use the free, accessible tools available in the market, since they can easily be adopted by instructors, who are likely to be the end users for this project’s outcome. The “vibe coding” method was also discussed as a way to create application solutions.
- Submission Format: While there are no specific formats or platforms required for the final submission, it would be good to consider using the WordPress platform, as the deliverables may be shared on the UBC LDDI site, which is built on WordPress.
