The structure and instructions for the lesson are below;
During the lesson you will either be an assessor or presenter,
- PRESENTERS: Pair of students will ‘teach’ their lesson
- They will let the class know their intended grade level audience.
- They should let the class know if sections are being streamlined/compressed due to time constraints (e.g. paint takes 24 hours to dry… fast forward… we will assume that the paint has dried, moving along!)
- They will have all their required teaching resources and materials ready to go (one of five required robots completed is fine for demonstration purposes)
- They have up to 60 minutes to teach their lesson.
- ASSESSORS: Engaged and ‘learning’ in class.
- All students are expected to be actively engaged with the lesson being taught by their peers. (Participation component of the courses overall grade).
- Feedback is to be respectful and constructive; edits on physical or digital handouts/materials are suggested.
- Concurrently, students should be taking notes/evaluating lesson based on feedback forms provided below.
- EDCP470 and 471A Peer Assessment Form
- EDCP470 and 471A Peer Assessment Form Fillable Fields
After the session has been completed the ALL assessors will provide the presenters with written feedback posted as a blog post COMMENT.
- *** The presenters will evaluate and synthesize the feedback, use it to improve and re-jig their lesson materials, and finally post up their finalized lesson plan and supporting materials as a comment to this Lesson Plans page. ***
