When my parents got my little brother a MacBook Pro for his 10th birthday, I was furious. When I was his age, the coolest thing I had was a black and white knock off Gameboy that had one game on it. But the fact is, kids these days are exposed to technology at a young age and it’s no longer a luxury to have, but a necessity.

The tablet market has expanded its customer base into the precious target market of children. Tablet manufacturers and App developers are looking for new ways to attract children for the upcoming holidays. Even companies like Toys R Us, who should probably be rename “Tablets R Us”, are selling children’s tablet as a way to increase profits this season. They’ve even cleared out a “tablet-testing area” in their stores for kids to try up to 30 devices. This is a genius addition to new customer segments with room to grow. Soon enough, they’ll even come up with an app on how to raise your kids.
