Connecting carrots, cows, cookies…coming to a classroom near you.

I just returned from a very interesting summer intensive course about Agriculture in the Classroom. It was very eye opening and informative. We visited a dairy farm, a turkey farm, a veggie farm, a bell pepper greenhouse, and had guest speakers talk to us about Agricultural Land Reserves, cattle ranching, salmon fish farming, gardening with schools and more. So much to take in. I do believe we need to share this information and experience with our students so they too can better understand where our food comes from and the sustainability issues associated with food.
