Reminders

Learning Fair final copy due Monday May 15th: Parents, some students have taken longer than others to finish their writing in class. Please let me know if finishing the typing this weekend is an issue and we can come up with a solution together.  You can always email me at hlangille@vsb.bc.ca.

Learning Fair

Many students have brought home their draft writing to be typed.  Please help your child to type their work, but do not do it for them (however long it may take for them to type).  This is a valuable skill that is only learned with practice. Remember the growth mindset!  Thank you for helping your child to do this.  Please send your child back to school with the typed drafts so that they can put their poster board together! This should return back to the classroom Monday May 15th.

Math

All three grades have started studying fractions.  The grade 1s and 2s have been making a Fractions Book to showcase their knowledge and have been using the Montessori Material to solidify their knowledge.

Grade 3: grade 3 students are also busy measuring and graphing their plant growth for their learning fair project.

Language

The students have been writing poetry for their learning fair project as well as writing many different kinds of poems in the classroom.  Ask your child about pyramid poems, two-worders, and haikus!
