January Snack Schedule

This is the snack calendar for the month of January. Please take the time to find out when your child’s snack day is and plan to send a healthy snack to class to share. The snack should be simple enough for your child to prepare and serve independently. Please no NUTS. Healthy cookies or muffins, cheese and crackers, bagels and jam or cream cheese, salsa and chips, fruit and vegetables are some snack ideas.

Birthday (BD) snacks will happen either on or as close to your child’s birthday as possible. If you forget to send snack, please send an “emergency” snack for us to serve when others forget theirs.

Both groups have done an impressive job each week doing the assigned reading, their tasks and questions, and coming to the meetings prepared to discuss the chapter.  I have been inspired by our work with Lit O’s! Thank you 2s and 3s!

Remember, we will meet for our last discussion on Friday!

The students have been working on their space logbooks and their planet designs.  Hopefully by the end of this week all students will have created a model of their imagined planet.

Culture

This week we will be continuing to  study each planet in more detail and working on our space logbooks. This will give us the information and details needed for us to be able to design and create our own planets in the weeks to come!  The students will have the opportunity to be creative while also incorporating the knowledge and information gained from our in-depth solar system and planet study.

Social Responsibility

img_4682

We now have two tents in the classroom! Thank you Sadie and your family for lending one to our class. The tents are meant for quiet time to get back into the green zone. Students can take a book or two, a squishy stress ball, or Mr. Frog into the tent to have a moment alone. They are also responsible for bringing the 5 minute timer so that they know when to come out and get back to their work.
