Math
Grade 1 and 2: grade 1 and 2 students have been busy practicing their subtraction facts using various Montessori materials. We also started learning about measurement by tracking the growth of our plants using rulers in cm. Students measured various objects in the classroom using animals such as lions, pandas, whales and hedgehogs! Ask them to explain!
Grade 3: grade 3 students have been working hard on squaring – taking their multiplication knowledge to the next level.
Ask your child to solve this problem and explain it to you:
(8+2)²
Language
The entire class of Division 5 seems to be inspired by poetry! It is so exciting to see so many poets!
Grade 3 students are still working on their Lemonade Crime literature circle and have been bringing their comprehension questions home to finish if they feel they cannot get the work done in class.
Culture
Learning Fair preparations: Students have been busy researching and taking notes on their plant topic for the learning fair. This week we will be working on our final copies of our life cycles and our artwork for the poster board.
