The UBC UFSA has partnered with our favorite local theaters showcasing independent cinema in Vancouver to bring members exclusive deals and benefits with our Promo Card! Let’s watch some films! For only $10, Promo Card Holders will have the following benefits with our Partners, the Vancity Theatre/VIFF, Cinematheque, and Rio theaters:
The Rio
- The first 100 Promo Card holders will receive a complimentary ticket to any regular screening at the Rio theater ($10 value)
The Vancity Theatre
- $3 off student priced tickets at any regular Vancity Screening ($8 tickets)
- Membership to the Vancity Theatre included ($2 value)
- No online service charges
- TBA Vancouver International Film Festival ticket perks
The Cinematheque
- A free small popcorn at any Cinematheque screening ($4 value)
- Membership at the Cinematheque included ($3 value)
To redeem your membership at the Cinematheque, simply show your Promo Card and you will be inputted into their online membership system. Vancity membership is included when you show your Promo Card. Promo Card prices also include the UFSA membership fee, which means you get to vote at our Annual General Meeting or run for an elected position in UFSA!
Promo Card benefits will be valid for one year from the date of receiving your card.
In order to sign up for a Promo Card, you will need to complete the following steps:
1) Sign up as a part of our club page on the AMS Clubhouse/Campus Vibe page, found here. You will be prompted for your Campus Wide Login (CWL) in order to proceed. Then search for “UFSA” or “Undergraduate Film Students Association” under the clubs section, and request to join our club. (This is to ensure that you are a valid UBC student, as our club is run through UBC’s Alma Mater Student Society)
2) On the Campus Vibe page, find and fill out the “Club/Constituency General Membership Waiver Form,” found under the Forms tab.
3) Fill out our Sign Up form here, or at the bottom of the page
4) Pay $10 for an UFSA Promo Card (includes UFSA membership), and pick up your card from our Treasurer. We’ll be selling cards at all of our events, or you can email us to meet on campus to pick up your card. At this time, we are only accepting cash.
