Coca-Cola, one of the biggest beverage companies over the world, was found by Asa Griggs Candler at 1886 and it is a milestone of this industry. Coca-Cola launched a special, eco-friendly Coke bottle recently that is made of 100% plant materials. One of my classmates Qianwei Zhang (Stella) (Stella’s Blog) thinks that this is a breakthrough of Coca-Cola and also for the entire beverage industry because beverage companies might do some unethical things to increase its profits.

As far as I am concerned, “sustainable development” is very important and it is not only for the company but also for the whole society. Since for consumers, the red plastic bottle is a representative of Coca-Cola, change the model of bottle might be difficult at the early period of its revolution. Besides, it needs Coca-Cola spends lots of financial and human capitals on it and it might also need a new operation and management system. However, it is worth it. First of all, an increasing number of people are caring about environmental problems in recent times, so they might be more willing to spend money to those eco-friendly companies. On the other hand, for the company, it is no doubt that this action can improve its reputation and find new development directions of the company. Therefore, it might achieve the first position of environmental-friendly products market and earn more profits.
