James Douglas

“One of my more memorable events was me going to see a concert by myself. But the fact that one of the more memorable parts about that was me meeting other people. So, the social aspect of live music is really important. It’s definitely a driving force. Whether that’s something that you recognize or don’t recognize, at the time.”

James Douglas is a concertgoer who has loved live music in all aspects, from small venues to massive festivals like Coachella for years. James also explores the fallouts of the Covid-19 pandemic, such as disrupted social connections and his fears that social anxiety may be an issue for many fans returning to live music venues. The audio clip is a excerpt of James’ interview which highlights the emotional connection he has with music and how it can amplify and evoke nostalgia. James feels that through live music he can connect and reconnect with friends maintaining a community he does not often see.

James is interviewed by Susan Webster.
