Greenspace equity

Additional #openaccess work using the spectrally unmixed greenness dataset (created through my MSc thesis), related to the distributional (in)equity of urban vegetation, including:

Quinton J*, Nesbitt L, Czekajlo A. 2022. Wealthy, educated, and… non-millennial? Variable patterns of distributional inequity in 31 Canadian cities. Landscape and Urban Planning,

From top left to bottom right: Maps of census dissemination area level median household income, % greenness, % with a Bachelor’s +, % Filipino/Southeast Asian, % Chinese, and % millennials for Vancouver, Canada. Vegetation and median household income were positively associated across Vancouver - with high values of both in the west and low values downtown and in the east. High percentages of millennials in Vancouver were mainly found downtown and in nearby neighbourhoods (e.g. Kitsilano, Fairview, Mount Pleasant, Riley Park, and Grandview-Woodland), which had a negative association with vegetation.
