Week 1 (February 1 – 5)

Unit: Weight Room
Grade: 9 (co Ed) – Day 1 group & Day 2 group

Positives

  • Punctual (8am-4pm) everyday
  • All sheets required for lesson printed before class
  • Lesson plans completed
  • Non participatory students: work sheets given out each time with questions based on lesson
  • Visual cue cards (for students who need to see how to do the activity).
  • Using a class room to teach something before going to weight room (if accessible)
  • Modifying lessons based on ability level / student engagement
  • Updating website daily for students / parents & guardians

To Work On:

  • Kids need to know in advance of pencils / calculators, etc in advance prior to class
  • Weight room: give instructions prior to going into weight room (class management)
  • Giving a work sheet in a weight room isn’t super useful because kids don’t have anywhere to put it! (spend more time writing than working out).
  • Inclusivity! – Working on including Jake more into the lessons
  • “Time” management (twice the lesson ended 15 minutes early).
