This module highlighted the importance of Public Relations in communicating the needs, significance, and issues in sustainable forest management (SFM). It explored the basic understanding of public relations as applied in sustainable forest management through science communication. We have identified some communication strategies and approaches which can be used in promoting forest management and governance, and emphasized how to enhance the social capability of the forest natural resource professionals to engage and build relationships among other stakeholders. Collaboration is a key activity in sustainable forest management, and PR has many uses in building partnerships and collaborative efforts toward SFM.
