Submission Guidelines

  • Topics should fall into one of the fields of Anthropology :
    • Sociocultural
    • Linguistic
    • Biological
    • Archaeology
  • Submissions must meet UBC’s conduct of academic integrity
  • Text is double-spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman font
  • Meet Chicago Manual of Style Author-Date citation, per the American Anthropology Association’s (AAA) publication style
  • Papers should be 4-12 pages in length
    • This is a general guideline, we encourage articles of all lengths to be submitted
  • Authors may submit up to 3 articles to be considered for each edition
  • Submissions should include an abstract of roughly 150 words or less

Who can submit?

All undergraduate students! We encourage those in 3rd year and above, however, all year levels will be considered.

Non-UBC student papers are also accepted and encouraged!

Students up to 2 years post-graduation (submissions must be written during time as an undergraduate).

How to submit?

  • Submissions are to be emailed to asajournal.ubc@gmail.com
    • Subject heading should read “Submission Summer 2023- Author’s Name”
  • Submissions are to be entered by July 15th in order to be considered for the upcoming edition, to be published in September 2023
