AI CUBE

This tutorial introduces designers and design students to three basic use cases for AI-assisted site analysis and early concept iteration, and are intended as a companion to the sketch-based CUBE method (see TUTORIAL 1: THE CUBE METHOD). These workflows do not represent the full range of possibilities available to designers, but are instead intended to build familiarity with current AI interfaces, AI-assisted research, prompt-generation, and output formats.

This page offers three tutorials: AI Dialogue for Site Analysis; Rapid Visualization with AI-Image Generators; and Digital CUBE for Measured Drawing.

  • AI Dialogue for Site Analysis, demonstrates how chatbots can be used to learn more about the ecological, urban, and infrastructural systems on a site, and to suggest possible design solutions.
  • Rapid Visualization with AI-Image Generators introduces the use of text and image-based prompts to produce compelling renderings of design ideas.

Digital CUBE for Measured Drawing provides a context-aware digital platform (downloadable Rhino and Grasshopper files) for translating axonometric sketches into measured CAD drawings.
