Virgin Earth Challenge

Teams from around the World have been competing for $25 million prize in the Virgin Earth Challenge.  This competition is organized by Vice President Al Gore and Sir Richard Branson.  The mission is to award prizes to companies that develop commercially viable business models to combat global warming.  This year’s 11 finalists have been named and one is a Carbondale, Colorado company called Biochar Solutions, and guess what?  They specialize in biochar!  This serves as an indication the commercial viability of biochar and the promising carbon sequestration properties of this technology.
