About

The tragedy of the Covid-19 pandemic in Canada’s long-term care system has laid bare the dire need for an alternative approach to traditional care for older adults and people living with dementia. Green Care Farming is a model of care that combines therapeutic farming practices with healthcare services for a variety of vulnerable groups.  The farming landscape – the farmyard, woodlands, gardens – serves as the base for healing.

This online platform is a tool for designers, program directors, and communities to enhance the healing qualities of Green Care landscapes through multi-sensorial and therapeutic design.

Refer to the design guide for ideas, probing questions, and resources.
