It is Canadian Thanksgiving today. Today also marks the 100th Independence Day of Taiwan from China. I celebrate neither. In English Lit my professor noted how the marking of statutory holidays defines a nation. How the days we gather with our family reflects the values we hold dear; it reflects the culture we identify with.
