Look at the common English expressions below. How many do you know? How many are you unsure of?

The expressions listed above are called idioms. Idioms are common expressions that have a hidden meaning. The actual meaning (how it is used in everyday speech) is different from the literal meaning (what the dictionary says the words mean).
