Mentorship Program

The CPSA Mentorship Program focuses on providing academic and professional development support by matching first- and second-year UBC counselling students with third+-year masters, PhD students, and Alumni. This mentorship program runs from November to September.

Examples of benefits of engaging in the mentorship program:

  • Developing meaningful connections with peers who have similar interests
  • Expanding your network
  • Gaining leadership skills
  • Learning about relevant professional opportunities (e.g., workshops, events, practicum experiences)
  • Brainstorming career development options and opportunities
  • Learning about different theoretical orientations or connecting about similar ones
  • Sharing experiences and strategies related to navigating your degrees
  • Discussing research ideas, academic challenges, and/or scholarship applications
  • Connecting with a supportive peer about self-care strategies
