Welcome to Module 1A: Atypical Development

This section describes atypical development and emphasizes how typical and atypical development exist on a continuum. What may appear as atypical development in one situation may be perfectly typical in another. This section reminds us that each child and family situation is unique. Each child can only be viewed through the family and environmental systems in which he or she lives.
