The deadline for the submission of paper and panel proposals is approaching (though still a comfortable five weeks away: the 1st of August).
This year’s Workshop is an initiative of the UBC Early Romance Studies Research Cluster in conjunction with UBC Medieval Studies and its Medieval Workshop Series; the organizers are Nancy Frelick, Juliet O’Brien, and Chantal Phan. The theme is
“Specular Reflections: The Mirror in Medieval and Early Modern Culture” → link to Call for Papers
This is broadly construed to include any aspect of ‘specular reflections’ in all periods, places, and disciplines–from Late Antiquity to the Early Modern Period. Our keynote speakers will be Tom Conley (Harvard) and Suzanne Conklin Akbari (Toronto).
