Subject: Customer Care Issue
Dear Whole Foods Customer Care Department,
I am writing from Vancouver, B.C. as I recently visited your Whole Foods location on 4th Avenue in Vancouver and wanted to express my dissatisfaction with my recent purchase.
On my last visit I saw this specific brand of whole wheat bread loaf was on sale and decided to purchase one. This specific brand was sitting on the shelves with all the other various types of bread loafs. As a customer because they are still on the shelves I expected them to be not past the best before date and unspoiled.
Upon further inspection when I had arrived home after purchasing the loaf of bread I realized that the best before date was Sept 14, 2018 and the date of purchase was Sept 18, 2018. I inspected the bread and saw that it had mould growing on it.
This is a huge safety issue as any customer myself included could have eaten a slice of the loaf of bread and suffered health issues. We are trusting Whole Foods to ensure all of its product on shelves is unspoiled and removed if past the best before date. This was frustrating as I trusted Whole Foods but had to throw the loaf of bread in the garbage.
I know employees can sometimes fail to ensure that all items that are spoiled or past the best before date are removed but I believe that Whole Foods can correct this issue by ensuring thorough checks of perishable products before putting them on shelves and routine inspections of these perishable products.
Thank you for taking the time to read my customer complaint.
Best regards,
Karn Sangha
