The purpose of this case study is for students to explore the management of e-waste and the environmental impact it has on the world. Through a series of tasks they will gain understanding of the environmental effects of e-waste and consider reasonable solutions to address these problems. Finally, students will apply what they have learned to design a campaign for their school and/or community.
The objectives of the high school e-waste tasks are:
- Students will be able to collect and analyze data about the devices of their peers.
- Students will be able to research how the use of digital devices and computers affects our environment.
- Students will be able to create an advertising campaign to encourage responsible recycling of e-waste.
- Students will be able to reflect on their own e-waste and that of their school.
