Hi Everyone. My name is Skye Ferguson and this is my first year as a MET student and this happens to be my first class as well. I am currently a full time high/middle school teacher (grades 8-12) in Lloydminster Saskatchewan. I teach Communications Media and Photography.
My love for technology evolved from my participation in the Skills Canada. I have participated and medaled in the competitions as well as trained/train students to compete and medal as well. I strive to get my students to meet industry standards before leaving the classroom. I hope to instil a passion and light a fire in them so that they consider pursuing the technological trades as a viable career option; possibly even starting their own venture in creating different technology softwares.
My passion is videography. In my spare time I do portrait photography and wedding videography on top of teaching.
I feel like in the 21st century computer literacy is an asset to be successful in any career field. I hope to keep gaining knowledge on the latest technology trends to bring to my classroom to stay relevant and effective. I am excited to dive into the the analyst reports and give a critical review on different educational technologies that I want to bring into my school division.
As the world is moving more online I feel like educational technology innovation in the industry will be growing more prominent and I can’t wait to learn the building blocks to be successful in ventures of learning technologies.
I am excited keep learning and expanding my knowledge in a field that I am very passionate about.
