Student retention and engagement is the priority for many, if not all post-secondary institutes but how to achieve that? First year students should be special population as they often have to navigate the university maze on their own, while are expected to do well. I first came across ECoach in my other ETEC course on learning analytics and I found its design and features to be fitting for the current learning environment.
ECoach offers the peer engagement and faculty support that are needed, especially for first year students. I see the potential of how ECoach can offer better first year experience better and as a result, keeping students.
