Andrea Pasinetti is the co-founder and CEO of Kira Learning, an education technology platform that provides computer science curriculum for K-12 public schools. Based in Palo Alto, California, Kira Learning aims to expand access to high-quality computer science education. He is also the co-founder of VIAVIA, a fashion e-commerce platform.
Prior to launching Kira Learning, Pasinetti founded Teach For China, a nonprofit that recruited top American teachers to provide instruction in under-resourced rural schools throughout China.
What’s interesting about Pasinetti is that his vision and business drive came first, and then his obtainment of formal qualifications followed. According to Wikipedia, he dropped out of Princeton University in 2008 to launch Teach For China, before returning to complete it in 2018. He also achieved a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2020. He founded Kira in 2021, although he had just enrolled as a student in the Master of Science in Computer Science (Systems + AI) from Stanford University School of Engineering in 2020, and on his LinkedIn page it says he is still in the program.
He also demonstrates his ability to build valuable connections as, in his latest venture, he has teamed up with Andrew Ng, a renowned AI pioneer, who has become chairman of Kira’s learning board. This demonstrates his ability to partner with talented people who can expand the reach of his venture.
