SuperBetter resistance training

This is not a technically “educational” site. It is more similar to a virtual life mentor that will help you become better from many conditions such as depression, anxiety, dieting, working out, etc. This website turns life coaching into games!

A TED talk made by its founder can be viewed here: https://www.ted.com/talks/jane_mcgonigal_the_game_that_can_give_you_10_extra_years_of_life?referrer=playlist-surprisingly_viral_ted_talks

It’s very exciting.

SuperBetter takes gamification to a whole new level. People go through different roadblocks whether they are physical or psychological and it is easy to feel hopeless when people feel they are in a endless, lonely battle. SuperBetter is a self-help app that users can have family and friends create different tasks that users have to complete in order to move to the next level. Those tasks are often mini activities that motivate users to take actions.

I can see how this app could be useful during this time when people are in isolation. For instance, for someone who is battling depression, friends can set tasks such as “write down four things that made you laugh today” or “send a quick text/email to a friend you haven’t seen for months”. Those quests help users to stay connected with their social circles while work towards improving their conditions.
