I really liked your video. Short and entertaining. This web app reminds me of Logics workflow. It’s amazing that they have an educational version of it. I would love to see what that looks like. Kids want to play with these tools but it’s unaffordable for most. This is an great alternative and very close to an industry standard DAW.

Hey Andrea, I’m a Logic user myself, and I think the similarities between the interface subconsciously drew me to BandLab. This video does a walkthrough of the BandLab For Educators specific program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0tUtxin6_w Wish a price of free hopefully it will alow more students to gravitate toward creating music.

    Hi Michael,

Excellent assignment! I have a small group for my grade 7 class tomorrow and we’re going to experiment with this. I’ll let you know how it goes. You sold me on it!

Replying to myself here in case anyone was interested. This was a hit. My students in Grade 6 and 7 loved it. I used this resource from Teachers Pay Teachers to get started right away:

Mark! So happy to hear, I’ve been using it for a couple months now and the students love it. It’s been amazing how fast they pick it up. The online community in my opinion rivals any other LMS software I’ve encountered. They can explore other producers, share their own music to build fans, or easily comment on each other projects naturally with a similar layout to a social media app they’re already familiar with.

Thanks for sharing the resource by the way! I’m gonna check those out! Let me know if you need any help.

      Michael
