I am not a baseball fan, but I love Babe Ruth’s quote, βNever Let The Fear of Striking Out Get In Your Way.β This is my mindset as I work towards my degree, hence one of the reasons I am in this course. I am a librarian by profession, and I decided to make a career change, returning to school to attain my MET. I worked at McGill Libraries for many years; my last role was Head Librarian. Then, I moved to Miami, Florida, to work at the University of Miami Libraries as Head Education and Outreach and their Digital Media Lab. I currently reside in Montreal, still trying to get accustomed to the cold though I was born in Quebec.
This is my fourth course in the program, and my intention once I graduate is to continue in my profession but from an educational technology aspect. This course is critical in my academic journey because I donβt think I know enough about mobile learning as there is so much knowledge and skills to develop. I look at this course as an opportunity to learn but also to challenge myself.
Therefore, stepping out of my comfort zone just as I did this past weekend. I am not an outdoors person; however, I went kayaking for the first time. You see the fright on my face, but I decided you are never too old to learn!! Looking forward to sharing different perspectives and learning from everyone.
Hello Anna! I also live in Montreal and currently work at Teaching and Learning Services at McGill. We have a great relationship with many librarians at McGill π
I hear you when it comes to Montreal winters! Last winter I started to hike in areas around Montreal and it made it all the more tolerable (even enjoyable!).
