I’m so grateful to be here! I am entering my 19th year teaching in Richmond, BC. Currently, I am a Teacher Consultant for Digital Literacy from K-12. I wouldn’t say I’m tech savvy however, I thrive on reimagine learning through the lens of digital tools, exploring affordances and nudging educators to try something new and think outside the box. My passion lies in the ‘what ifs….” This is my fifth MET Course and I look forward to embracing the idea of a ‘learning mill’ approach to curating knowledge.
When I’m not working or engaged with Masters work, I’m a wife and mom to three teen girls that keep me on my toes. We love to spend our family time camping and sitting around a fire. My self care lies in running trails or signing up for endurance events. Nothing makes me happier than a long run with a good audio book.
I’m really enjoying my time in the MET Program and the opportunity to rethink how I envision digital tools and how they might be used to mobilize student learning. I find that course material challenges me to reconsider what I believe and keeps me on my toes. It’s safe to say the best part of being a teaching is having a job that affords you the opportunity to learn as you go. I am a learner at heart and love that I get to experience joyful discovery and learning along side students and colleagues.
I am equally as grateful, Kendall! Looking forward to sharing in the learning again.
