Hello my new learning family! My name is Sébastien and I am from Québec City, Canada. I have been teaching French language and literature to high school students for several years and I am a coordinator, workshop leader and consultant for the International Baccalaureate (IB). These roles allow me to share with teachers from several other countries around the world the application of a more international, interdisciplinary, inclusive and differentiated pedagogy. Slowly but surely, my role as an adult educator is coming to fruition in my professional identity. I had the opportunity to work in Tunisia, Cambodia, England and the United States. I’m a traveler, nature enthusiast and outdoor fan. I love new experiences and learning through cultural interactions.
I am currently completing the first year of my Masters degree in Adult Learning and Global Change (ALGC) at UBC. I am sneaking into the MET program because I am passionate about the digitalization of education and the increasingly important involvement of technologies in the high school teaching world which are evolving at a snail’s pace. For their part, adolescent students are changing at the speed of light. One of my goals as an adult educator is thus to create a bridge between more traditional disciplinary teaching and the new global reality. I therefore want to find out more about mobile education, to open this door for my fellow teachers who are prisoners of a restrictive educational tradition, but are open to updating their practices.
It will be a pleasure to discover and share with you during the summer. I will probably wear my sunglasses and drink a few cocktails during our various moments of online collaboration.
Cheers!
Seb, it is great to virtually meet you! Also, I wanted to add how neat it is that you have been adventuring since January!
What a great trip Seb. And such an adventure to share. Great ideas and I’m hoping to learn more about the mobility of mobile education as well. I look forward to working with you.
Hi Seb!
Wow, what a fun journey to take on! I am sure you have experienced some wonderful places. I recently purchased a Toyota vehicle and am happy to see how versatile your Tacoma is!
I am glad you are seeking interest in technology related courses. I have found them quite beneficial so far!
I am looking forward to working and learning with you throughout the duration of the course 🙂
Wow! A road trip to 17 states and 6 provinces! Sounds like quite the adventure and very much a “mobile” experience!
It seems like I need to keep a close eye on your posts for your mobile experiences!
