Kahoot, Quizizz, Blooket or Gimkit?

Gamifying the classroom is not a new concept. With technology at the fingertips of most students and schools, online interactive learning games have increased in popularity. The ability to create and customize to the learning goals of each class, search pre-made question banks, and, most of all, increase engagement and participation, it’s hard not to use one or more of these tools. The genial.ly below offers to provide some information and a comparison of four popular programs. Which one might be the best for you? Which one do you prefer?

I love this comparison chart! I’m familiar with Kahoot and Gimkit. I’m going to check out Blooket and Quizzizz. In my personal experience, Kahoot Pro works really great except for the payment and subscription part. What I like about Kahoot Pro are the different format of quizzes that you can make. The free version only allows for multiple choice – boring. I feel that educators are responsible to keep up with AI technology at the same time as paying for these technological services out of pocket. Living in Canada, we don’t make enough to be paying for meaningful educational tools and resources 🙁 Public schools and departments have no budget to maintain the technological needs of students today. We can’t keep on paying and yet we limit ourselves and our students from trying out new digital literacies because of this gap. It’s a tricky one! For now, we rely on free subscriptions, trials, and experimenting with new AI apps.

Hi, this is a fantastic comparison chart. My previous role at my last workplace was to integrate apps like this into classrooms for First Nations students and teachers. We historically struggled with implementing system-wide apps before we developed a single sign-in solution. We were thrilled to be able to provide Kahoot!, Nearpod, Canva and Mathletics and actually see that they were being used in the classroom. I’m introducing Kahoot into the corporate sector in my new role, because of the endless ways to use it. My favourite feature of Kahoot, is that when we use it at conferences for fun or engagement, it’s so easy to get people to scan the QR code with their phones to join in. Its a fantastic app for mobile and adults get a kick out of it too.
