Activity 1: Describe how you’ve done it before

For this activity you will describe the change initiative that you were thinking of when answering the poll in the last page. I’d like you to follow the steps below:

  1. Read this article – Leading Change: Why Transformation Efforts Fail by John P. Kotter.
  2. Outline all the steps taken (that you are aware of) by the change initiative team from conception of the initiative to it’s completion [*should include an example here].
  3. Identify all activities taken by the change initiative team (that you are aware of) to engage and map different stakeholders, and understand the impact of the project.
  4. Reflect on what could have been improved, and how.
  5. Connect the proposed improvements to the learning outcomes of this module. As a reminder the learning outcomes are:
    • Understand key principles and activities that influence the success of a change initiative
    • Identify who is impacted by your new initiative and how they are impacted
    • Identify potential resistance points and motivators for change for key stakeholder
    • Start building a plan to manage the change for your initiative

Alright, I get why I should care. How can I do better?
