Landslide Mitigation Blog is NOW Online

The LANDSLIDE MITIGATION Concepts, Tools and Design Blog https://blogs.ubc.ca/landslides/ was created through a directed study by Alexander Williams and Pierre Tulk, both SALA MLA III, and Diego Lozano, Geography BSc IV, initiated and advised by Associate Professor Daniel Roehr. This blog presents basic concepts related to the study of mass movements (landslides) and their mitigation by design professionals and students (Architects, Environmental Designers, Landscape Architects). It empowers future designers to detect and highlight landslide prone areas with an easily accessible GIS-based mapping tool. An additional multisensory site immersion tool is currently being created in another phase to complement this tool and inform landslide susceptibility parameters at the site scale.
