A patron phoned from home this afternoon (Sunday) to ask about using MetaLib from home. He was connected via VPN, but wasn’t able to use MetaLib without being prompted for a password. He also said there were lock icons next to the links.
I suggested accessing certain indexes and databases individually, which did work. I suggested some interdisciplinary databases based on his paper topic.
Anyone know of any problems using MetaLib from home?

Hi Brie,
I haven’t heard of any issues recently using MetaLib from home via VPN. On occasion, there does seem to be a problem accessing individual licensed resources through VPN which can be resolved by using the proxy server instead; I suspect this might have worked in this case as well. I’ve forwarded your message to the MetaLib team – we’re meeting Tues to discuss any issues to date. I’ll post an update to the blog after that. Thanks for letting us know.
Susan
Could it have something to do with CWL login vs. VPN? I have heard that when you log in with your CWL sometimes MetaLib and the eLink from Google Scholar do not work. Perhaps the patron had logged in using the EZ-Proxy but referred to it as the VPN?
