And I agree with you that there’s an attempted critique of the sensationalization of violence… which Piglia associates with war films. But I’m not sure how successful that critique is, in fact.
It’s ok, I will hopefully one day find it within me to forgive you.
Yes, I agree, I think that it falls plenty short of a succinct and clear critique in the same way as many other artists and writers. There’s still a level of romanticism about the group and their antics that positions the reader at odds with this critique.
