    The way in which you use the term “chance encounter” is very effective to detailing the aftermath of the book. It reminds me of that encounter in Nadja when the author sees her for a moment and is immediately enthralled.

    You say Agostino’s innocence was “ruined.” But doesn’t it *have* to be ruined? He can’t stay innocent forever! In that sense, do the boys do him a favour?

    And Kendra makes a good point that he “doesn’t even know what puberty is.”
