As Vancouver’s neighborhood with the most households with children (53%) but with worsening childhood outcomes for physical health, social
competence, and emotional maturity, I asked how can a garden restore and
activate the minds and bodies of families who live in the Southlands
neighborhood.

Physical touch from family members and caregivers is often an important part of the therapeutic regime for people living with dementia. The Covid-19 pandemic has devastated long-term care homes across Canada and has left many residents isolated from this essential contact.
