“What does Italian language and culture mean to you?”

This digital gallery conveys the meaning of Italian language and culture through creative compositions by students of Italian at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. Enjoy this collection of original paintings, collages, sketches, poetry, and even scripts.

As part of the 20th Week of the Italian Language in the World: “Italian Between Word and Image: Graffiti, Illustrations and Comic Books”, this digital gallery features Italian Student Contest entries with the permission of the participants.

This event was organized by UBC’s Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies (FHIS) and SFU’s Department of World Languages and Literatures (WLL) under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver, in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada West, the Dante Alighieri Society of B.C., and Il Centro – Italian Cultural Centre.
