In the case of both years 2015 and 2018, there was a negative correlation between road density and population count. The R2 values represent goodness of fit, which were significantly higher for threatened populations rather than viable populations. This indicates a greater range for population numbers where they are stable, as oppose to threatened populations that show a more consistent decline as road density increases. Wildlife management units who have seen decreases in population density can infer to causes and evaluate their road density to core habitat ratios, setting priority areas for wildlife corridors, under and overpasses, as well as fences at a safe distance from roadsides.
