Autobiography

A little bit about me…

To students I am known as Miss. Lambeck

I am an optimist with a passion for helping people and forming meaningful relationships. I believe in learning from mistakes, taking responsibility for actions, and having grace for others. I strive to know more about the world around me and I am fascinated with how knowledge is interconnected and can be looked at under the lens of math, literature, science, art, and social sciences.

The first thing I decided after choosing to become an educator was to teach through example. Taking into account the countless little expectations I have of my students has made me mindful of how I behave and interact with others. After all, the best sort of  relationship between student and teacher is ideally symbiotic: learning from and bettering one another.

believe students have the ability to become global citizens and make a difference in
the world. The first step goes beyond accepting diversity to appreciating and valuing  different world views. There is no better way of understanding other cultures than to experience them first hand.
I hope to spark a love for adventure during my teaching practice and encourage students to discover what is going on in the world.

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”
 – Henry Miller

My curiosity about how the world works is deeply connected with my desire to build and create. I have a background in Architectural Drafting and I have used my design skills to create a functional classroom layout and creative content. My artistic nature helps me find innovative solutions for the many challenges educators face. I hope to promote the arts for my students and encourage them to discover what they are passionate about.

What I love about teaching are the daily interactions and connections. Everyday is filled with more joy and challenge than anyone could possibly predict. The distance between the ideal teacher I want to be and reality is still very wide. However after everyday in the classroom, I find myself readjusting and looking forward to the next day of teaching.
